I was born on 31/3/1948 at Campsie and my education started at Clempton Park Public School I then progressed to Kingsgrove Sth High School. I left school at the early age of 14 and went out into the workforce.
At the age of 11, I started Dancing, which encluded
Old Time Dancing
New Vogue Dancing
Latin American
Ballroom Dancing
My life for many years was dancing, nothing else mattered, as a result I became an Instructor in all forms of dancing and had won a lot of contests including the channel 2 Championship.
During my dancing career I obtained 140 sashes and Medals.
Ken and I was married at Birchgrove on 12/2/1968 we lived at Birchgrove for a couple of years and then we moved to Belmore. After a waterski accidient to Ken which caused his lung to collaspe we moved into our own home unit at Punchbowl . We worked together for Phillips-TMC at Liverpool, while we were there we played ten pin Bowling for the company team and won many trophies.
In August 1974 we had our first child which was a girl and we called her Sally Anne, Ken chose this name from a singer on the Young Talent Time Show. She didn't turn out to be a singer but she did become a nursing sister and a mother herself which we are proud of.
Several years later we moved into our home at St Marys where we still live today and on 29/2/1980 our son was born and we called him Corey James because of a little black boy on a TV show and his middle name is after his father's middle name. He no longer lives at home but I wish the best for him in the future.
I have several close friends in which I have inherited their children as adopted grand children. I find myself very lucky because I beleive that because of all these people and all these children that is the reason I have been able to cope with Ken's illness and my own.
